ROYAL CITY — Looking at a 45-28 score, you’d think the Royal High girls were swamped again in basketball at Kittitas last week, but they played better than all of the other outings for far.
The Knights rallied late in the third period and the first half of the fourth to close Kittitas’ lead to 31-24. Then they ran out of gas.
“Tonight was a better effort, but we can still do better,” coach Phil Daubel said. “We are working to try and put a full 32 minutes together, but we have lapses that hurt us. We are getting better and competing better.”
The Knights improved their shooting from nine percent the previous game to 26 percent at Kittitas. They were led by Jennifer Ledezma’s 11 points and seven by McDarra VonStein.
