A Libby man is being held on charges of felony assault with a weapon after allegedly firing shots from a vehicle on Bobtail Road Tuesday morning.

Craig Alan Barrows, 29, had not appeared before a judge on Wednesday morning for bail to be set, Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe said.

“There was a firearm that was fired, not at anyone,” Bowe said.

A press release from Bowe’s office said that deputies responded to 1452 Bobtail Road after a dispute over a broken windshield escalated into an incident where shots were fired.

The victim reported a description of the vehicle Barrows was traveling in and deputies stopped the vehicle without incident.

Barrows and a passenger were taken in for questioning. The passenger was later released from custody.

Barrows also was charged with misdemeanor negligent endangerment for the incident.
