YAKIMA — Moses Lake took advantage of four forfeits by West Valley in a lopsided 78-0 win.

Aside from the forfeits, six Chiefs won by fall: Beau Mauseth (170), Hudson Mauseth (182), Daiman Vasquez (195), Chandler Fluaitt (285), August Gibson (120) and Nick Hara (126).

“The kids wrestled tough,” head coach Jaime Garza. “I was pleased with the way they went out and wrestled.”

Tuesday’s dual was the second time this season Moses Lake ran the table. On Dec. 16, Moses Lake forfeited a single weight in a 64-6 rout of Wenatchee.

Christien Knopp (132) came out on the right end of a 6-3 decision. Cooper McCullough (138) and Hunter Cruz (145) followed up Knopp’s performance with a technical fall and 10-1 major decision, respectively.

Cyrus Knoll (152) and Joel Torres (160) both won by forfeit.

After three straight pins by Beau Mauseth, Hudson Mauseth and Vasquez, Payton Castro (220) won by forfeit.

Caleb Lawson (106) won by disqualification after leading in the match. Jesus Cornejo (113), who recently returned to the lineup, also won by forfeit.

Moses Lake travels to the Rollie Lane Invitational this weekend before hosting Chiawana Jan. 12.
