PONDERAY — The city of Ponderay is now under the leadership of Mayor Steve Geiger, who was sworn in Monday evening. His first order of business was to honor Carol Kunzeman for her eight years of service as mayor with a plaque, saying he wouldn't be mayor without her help.
“It's been a fun eight years. It's been hard work,” Kunzeman said. “And I have to say, I am glad to be going out when I am going out and I feel good about that.”
Councilman Rick Larkin and new councilman Gary Kunzeman were also sworn in during the meeting. Larkin will continue as council president. City clerk Su Warren and City Attorney Louis Marshall were also sworn in to their respective positions. Warren and Marshall are appointed, and Marshall said giving them the oath may not be necessary but feels it is a good idea.
