Velva Shirley Hunt, of Hauser, Idaho, passed away after a long illness on Dec. 20, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Chewelah, Wash., at the young age of 74.

Shirley loved our Heavenly Father with all of her heart. She spent her entire adult life dedicated to her children and grandchildren and spent tireless hours tending to their needs and providing with all that she had. She loved family get-togethers, where she was truly the heart of the family. She is dearly loved and will be missed tremendously.

She was born in Nampa, Idaho, on Aug. 12, 1941, to the parents of Edwin Harold Steinebach and Velva Fern (Loosli).

She is survived by her sons: William Harold Johnson, St. Maries, Idaho; Brent Johnson, Mead, Wash.; and Brian Dee Johnson, Deer Park, Wash. Daughters: Beckeelou Lee (husband, Fred), Chewelah; Bonnie Lynn Swanson (Johnson) (husband, David), Rosalia, Wash.; Heather Aileen Howard, Hauser. Grandchildren: Keven Ralph, Jacob Ralph, Joshua Johnson, Jillian Johnson, Tessa Wigen and Robert Wigen. Great-grandchildren: Caleb Ralph and Xander Westlake. Siblings — Sisters: Janet Hansen, Spokane, Wash.; Loretta Ralph (husband, William), Deer Park; Edwina Griffith and Anna Cates (husband, Albert). Brother: Robert Steinebach (wife, Liza). She is predeceased by her parents: Edwin Harold Steinebach and Velva Fern Loosli; her brothers, Bud Larsen and Eddy John Steinebach; and her sister, Rena Anthony.

A brief gravesite service was held Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Forest Home Cemetery in Northport, Wash. Officiant was Terry Hunt. Pallbearers were Bill Johnson, Brent Johnson, Brian Johnson and Robert Wigen. Honorary Pallbearers were Lynn, Terry, Fred, Rusty, Keven, Jacob, Josh and David.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, with a luncheon to follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — 1st Ward, 1670 N. McGuire Road, Post Falls, ID 83854-4491.
