Once again the Assisted Living and Long Term Care Residents at the Mineral Community Hospital in Superior had the pleasure of a visit from the Roaring Readers group.  The group, which consists of fourth and fifth graders from St. Regis School, visited the hospital during the holidays.  

The last time the group came to the hospital was in November and the students read essays they had written. On this visit, they entertained their guests with two theater plays entitled “Baker’s Dozen” and “Holiday High Jinx.”  

The plays lasted about 20 minutes and then Jack Connolly played two Christmas songs on the piano.  The group also presented residents with snow flake Christmas ornaments that they had made.  

The first time the students visited the hospital, they had approached St. Regis principal, Joe Steele, to see if they could continue to do it once a month for the rest of the school year. Their request was approved. 

Now they can continue to write and perform pieces, or do some other language art projects, explained their teacher, Diane Gingerich, “I’m very proud of them for wanting to do this.”
