A man faces up to 10 years in prison after admitting he skipped out on a trial where he was facing a felony charge for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in 2008.

Jared Lous Mauzey, 34, pleaded guilty to felony bail jumping before Flathead District Judge Amy Eddy. Mauzey’s plea was part of an agreement with prosecutors in which the underlying sexual assault charge was dropped.

Mauzey admitted on the witness stand that he did not show up for court in 2013 when the sexual assault charge was set for trial.

Mauzey is set to be sentenced on March 24.
