SCHAWANA — A Pasco man was injured in a collision that involved a Royal City driver near here on Dec. 27 on Highway 243.
The accident occurred at around 11 a.m. According to Washington State Patrol Trooper D. Muñóz, both drivers were wearing seat belts, and neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor.
Yevegeniy Sherepitko, 20, of Pasco was northbound on 243 in a red 2000 Toyota Celica 2-door when he lost control of his vehicle on a curve to the right, Muñóz said. The Celica spun out and then struck a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle was Celso Venegas Magaña, 41, of Royal City. He was not injured, but his vehicle, a white 2007 Nissan Titan Pickup, had to be hauled away by Davis Towing of Schawana.
Sherepitko was injured. He was taken to Kadlec Hospital in Richland by ambulance.
Muñóz said the cause of the accident was speed too fast for conditions. Sherepitko was cited.
