Polson 60
Columbia Falls 43
By John Heglie
At Columbia Falls, the visiting Pirates put the kibosh on any Wildcat recurrence of last second winning free throw heroics like last season by carving out a double digit lead before intermission, then keeping their foot on the gas pedal the rest of the way to secure their second conference win.
Matt Rensvold and Shade Main seemed almost Australian with their superior work down under that included collaborating on nine offensive rebounds. In spread-the-wealth team effort fashion, seven Pirates collaborated to rack up a tally of double digit dishes (assists) as well as steals. Rensvold crested the century plateau for seasonal scoring toward the close of the game.
Polson (2-0, 4-2) will have already hosted Stevensville on Tuesday, then host visiting Libby on Saturday, January 16.
