This past weekend, Mission/Charlo and Polson made the short trip to Ronan for the Western Montana Duals. In two tough days of competition, the Polson wrestlers came out on top as a team. On their way to the top, they wrestled against both the Mission/Charlo team and the Ronan team. Against Ronan, Polson just snuck by, winning as a team by only six points. Polson, who had defeated Frenchtown earlier in the week, faced them again in the winner’s bracket, where they once again took care of business. In the championship dual, Polson defeated Hamilton.

Ronan also ended up in the winner’s bracket, and after a loss to Polson, ended up in the consolation dual, where they lost to Columbia Falls for a fourth place finish. Mission/Charlo did not make it to the championship rounds, but had individuals compete very well at the tournament.

For Polson, eight wrestlers won in the championship dual. Those wrestlers included Mateo Quinones, Bridger Wenzel, Cameron Brown, Jaben Wenzel, Parker Adler, Colton Cote, Nick Marquardt, and Thunder Morales. Mike Corrigan also had a good weekend, pinning three of his opponents before losing in the championship dual at the 205 weight class.

Arlee also wrestled last week, although not at the Western Montana Duals. They hosted Deer Lodge, Townsend, and Flint Creek. Senior Alex Bertollt won all three of his matches at that meet.
