MOSES LAKE — Flu has arrived in Grant County, but there is still time to protect your family and you.

The Grant County Health District (GCHD) has seen a sharp increase in healthcare providers reporting of positive flu tests.

Grant County Health Officer Dr. Alexander Brzezny wants Grant County residents to know that, “Flu activity has remained low but is increasing in Washington State and Grant County. Last week the Health District received the first reports of flu from local healthcare. In order to receive the best protection, I urge you to get your flu shot now.”

With holiday travel approaching, GCHD urges all residents six months and older to get their flu shot as soon as possible. Flu activity typically increases in the winter months when people spend more time indoors around each other.

People who haven’t been vaccinated against flu still have time to get the vaccine before the season reaches its peak here in Grant County.

There are many flu vaccine choices, and they are available in various locations, including health care provider offices and pharmacies.
