BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Flathead holds off Whitefish, Wolfpack wins at Polson

WHITEFISH — Whitefish stormed back with a 22-point fourth quarter but missed a potential game-winning shot in the final seconds as Flathead held on for a 41-40 win on Tuesday night.
With the score just 25-18 in favor of the Braves after three quarters, the two teams went on a scoring binge in the final frame. Whitefish (5-6) outscored the visitors 22-16 in the final quarter.
Tyler Johnson scored 15 points off the bench to lead the Braves. Derek Kastella scored 14 and Jacob Henry added 12 to pace the Bulldogs.
Flathead (3-7) beat Whitefish 55-38 at home on December 18.
The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday, welcoming Polson to town at 6 p.m. for a matchup of the last two undefeated teams in Northwestern A.
The Braves host crosstown rival Glacier Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

POLSON — Glacier made 16 of 20 free throws in the fourth quarter to seal a road win over Polson Tuesday night.
The Wolfpack (3-6) allowed 27 points in a high-scoring final period but was able to maintain a comfortable cushion by regularly converting at the charity stripe. Glacier made 26 of 31 free throws in the game.
Tadan Gilman led the Pack with 17 points. Blayne Bailey, Noah Lindsay and Dylan Ruggles each scored 12.
Matthew Rensvold led the Pirates (6-3) with 21 points. Julian Jones scored 17 in a losing effort.
Polson will travel to Whitefish Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in a battle for first place in Western A.
The Wolfpack is in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Saturday to take on Lake City at 6 p.m.

RONAN — The Ronan defense held Eureka to nine first half points in a nonconference win Tuesday night.
The Chiefs led 24-9 at halftime and pulled away with a 23-point fourth quarter.
Ten different Ronan players scored in the win. Ezekiel Misa led the way with 22 points. Aaron Misa added nine.
Mo Henderson led Eureka with 13 points.
