Swimmers from Columbia Falls and Whitefish dominated the action in the pool at the Cat/Dog Invitational on Saturday at The Wave.

Whitefish, 314 points, easily won the girls team title. Columbia Falls, 346, was also a decisive winner in the boys events to clean up on the team title. The Whitefish boys, 211, finished second.

“This being our first home meet, the swimmers from both teams, Columbia Falls and Whitefish, swam their hearts out,” Columbia Falls/Whitefish head coach Mike Nelson said.

“It was a little emotional. A lot of the seniors spent two years trying to get the team going, then swam last year for the first season. Now we had our own meet where they could do the senior walk. These seniors have fundraised for our first year, second year and next year.”

Annie Sullivan (200 IM and 500 free) was a double winner for Whitefish.

Sonja Ring (200 free) and Matthew Perez (100 breast) were also first for Whitefish.

Whitefish’s Madison Davis placed third in the 200 IM and Michaela McDowell was third in the 500 freestyle. Rhiley Livingston placed fourth in the 50 free and Selina Hartmann improved over 12 seconds in her two events.
