BASKETBALL: Vikes, Vals trounce Eureka

EUREKA — Bigfork never left a doubt, leading 37-10 at half in a 69-29 District 7B conference basketball victory on Saturday.
George Gibson scored 20 points and Joseph Potkonjak had 15 as the Vikings got out to a 15-2 start in the first quarter. The lead only increased from there, as Bigfork scored 22 points in the second quarter and lifted its lead to 52-21 after the third quarter before winning by 40.
Jamie Good led Eureka with nine points.

BIGFORK — Lana Berg scored 12 of her 20 points in the second half to help Bigfork pull away from Eureka and stay perfect in District 7B conference play.
The Valkyries led by just six points at the half as Eureka was able to keep the game to a low-scoring affair.
Bigfork scored 16 points in the third quarter to take an 18-point lead by the end of the frame, and added to the lead in the fourth quarter.
Berg finished with 10 rebounds to complete the double-double and Miranda Campbell had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Vals.
Sienna Utter had a team-high eight points for Eureka.
