SANDPOINT — A Bayview man accused of possessing and distributing child pornography over the Internet was placed on probation for five years and ordered to register as a sex offender, according to 1st District Court records.

Judge Barbara Buchanan also ordered Benjamin James Leavitt on Tuesday to undergo sexual offender treatment, but spared him additional incarceration after Leavitt served approximately three months of pretrial incarceration.

"My life will never be the same," Leavitt said before Buchanan imposed a suspended two- to five-year term.
