Royal Rumble Knights win own wrestling tournament

ROYAL CITY — Returning to local prep competition after the recent by a Japanese cultural exchange team, Royal High School wrestlers picked off five first places to take the team title at the Royal Rumble last Saturday.

Wahluke also had a good day, with three Warriors placing, including a title by Adrian Toscano at 245 pounds.

Royal took first place in the team race. Goldendale finished second, and Naches ended up third.

The Warriors were led by Toscano, who raced like a wildfire though the 145-pound field.

Others to place for Wahluke were:

120—Felix Rangel, third.

126—Juan Toscano, third.

Royal got first place from Eduardo Rodriguez at 120; First place from Kiki (el grande) Chabolla at 136; First place from Jose Jimenez at 230; first from Abraham Medina at 132, and first from Jose Jimenez at 195.

Royal’s other placers were:

  • 106—Rodolfo Flores, second.
  • 132—Steven Toro, second.
  • 138—Ruben Hernandez, third.
  • 145—Addin Felker, second.
  • 152—Jack Diaz, third.
  • 170—C.J. Quintero, second.
  • 183—Dylan Schehuber, third.
