The Lady Loggers fell against the Valkyries of Bigfork Thursday night, 57-36, but came back strong Saturday to defeat the Lady Bluehawks of Thompson Falls, 55-43.

Head coach Jim May said mistakes cost his girls the game against the district-leading Vals.

“The game was a struggle,” he said. “When we executed what we had planned we were successful.  Just made too many mistakes on both offense and defense.”

The Lady Bluehawks fought to an early lead against the Lady Loggers Saturday, but Libby’s girls fought their way back into the game and secured the victory.

“We knew Thompson Falls would come out playing hard and they did,” May said. “They controlled the tempo for the first quarter and a half, but we were able to turn things around and get the lead. I was very pleased with how we played in the middle of the second half which led to a nice lead. We will continue to work on our execution in the area of game management when we have a lead.”
