ROYAL CITY — Brenna and Bailey Whitney put together solid performances to help Warden extend its win streak to five games.

Bailey Whitney scored a game-high 19 points as Warden downed Royal 55-29 in a game that was scheduled to be played earlier in the season. The early-season matchup was postponed after Royal’s football team put together a deep playoff run that ended in a state championship.

Head coach Dan Caballero had some worries about no practice after Friday and Saturday games before Monday.

“It’s always tough coming back with no practice in between playing three games in a row,” he said.

However, his team responded with another double-digit victory over the Knights.

Brenna Whitney added 17 points for the Cougars.

“They started playing pretty good together and distributing the ball well,” Caballero said.

Warden will try to avenge one of its two losses this season when the team travels to Waterville. The Shockers held the Cougars to 31 points; their lowest total of the season.
