Boys 11th, girls 12th at Missoula swim meet

Zayne Friar had a solid meet at the Missoula Invitational swim meet Saturday. Friar took sixth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.32 and third in the 100 free with a 53.45.
Colton Babcock, one of the boys’ teams other top swimmers, competed in the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, Washington.
His best showing was in the 1,500 free, where he had a 17:01.67, good enough for fifth.
The Washington meet was just a step below Olympic qualifiers.
As a team the boys took 11th, the girls took 12th.
None of the girls broke into the top six, but Karyssa Nelson set a new school record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:21.78 and the girls team set a new mark in the 400 free relay with a time of 5:00.19.
The team will have a few weeks of practice before they wrap up the season with the state tournament in Great Falls on Feb. 13-14.

Experts forecast flooding by area rivers and streams
With continued cold weather, the potential for flooding by area rivers and streams has increased, the National Weather Service warned last week.
Search suspended for missing skiers
The search in Grand Teton National Park for two men with ties in the Flathead has been suspended because of inclement weather. The men are believed to be lost in an avalanche.
