  •  The Flathead County 4-H Foods Fair will be today with judging starting at 9:30 a.m. at Kalispell Center Mall. Check out the “best display” and culinary talent of 4-H members.
  •  Monday is the deadline to return applications to be a Flathead County 4-H Camp counselor. All applicants will go through an interview process. Counselors must be at least 13 by Oct. 1, 2015. The camp will be July 18-22 and counselors are expected to attend a majority of planning meetings. Applications are available at http://flathead.mt.gov/extension/downloads.php.
  •  Bigfork parents of children in kindergarten through 12th grade are invited to attend a free parenting workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bigfork Elementary and Middle School featuring a speaker on the topic “Be a Gifted Parent!   •  Whitefish High School’s first Digital Learning open house will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the library. This is a time for Digital Learning students to show parents their programs and answer questions. Pizza and salad will be served.
  •  A 4-H dog project meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Flathead County Fairgrounds building under the grandstands to find out more about the revised program. Members with dog projects or those who want to learn more about it are invited to attend. Following the meeting, a rally course will be set up.   •  Kila School class pictures and sports pictures will be taken Tuesday.
  •  A Kila School eighth-grade student and parent meeting is planned at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The history trip will be discussed and a Flathead High School counselor will be available for ninth-grade registration.
  •  Kila School parents and adult community members looking to get in shape, or just get out of the house, are invited to play basketball Tuesdays from 6:16 to 8:15 p.m. at the school starting Tuesday.
  •  Parent/teacher conferences are set for Wednesday in Evergreen School District. There is no school. Conferences will be from 12 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
  •  Parent/teacher conferences are set for Wednesday in West Valley School.
  •  Columbia Falls High School will help students file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Wednesday. Free assistance will be available in the career center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. in the library. This form is used to secure federal and institutional aid to help pay for postsecondary education. Incentives will be offered for forms that are completed and submitted.   •  Home visits for Evergreen preschool, early kindergarten and kindergarten families are planned Thursday.
  •  Helena Flats School will hold a Montessori night on from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Students will showcase math curriculum and materials.
  •  The third annual 4-H winter dance and dessert social is set from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Eastside Grange Hall in Creston. Four-H members of all ages are welcome and children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $3 per person, $5 per couple, or $10 per family. Desserts will be provided by the Dandy Dudes and Dolls 4-H Club.
  •  The Sparrow’s Nest of Northwest Montana is seeking high school students to ride on their float in the Feb. 6 Whitefish Winter Carnival parade. For more information contact Laura Kochis at 253-4062.
  •  Bigfork Elementary class photos for grades kindergarten through seventh will be taken Feb. 9.
  •  Bigfork High School will help students file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from 1 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 in the library. FAFSA is used to secure federal and institutional aid to help pay for postsecondary education. The event is part of College Goal Montana. Both students and parents will need to get an Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID from www.studentaid.ed.gov.
  •  St. Matthew’s students have a 1:30 p.m. dismissal Feb. 10.
  •  There is no school for Stillwater Christian students Feb. 11-12 due to an MCAA tournament.

  •  There is a 1:30 p.m. early release Feb. 12 for Bigfork School District.
  •  Feb. 12 is the deadline to register for Little Kickers Soccer, an indoor, noncompetitive league for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. Little Kickers Soccer will be held Saturdays, March 5 through April 9. For more information call 758-7849 or email [email protected].
  •  Swan River students have a 1:45 p.m. early dismissal planned Feb. 12.
  •  The winter teen 4-H camp is planned Feb. 12-14 at Loon Lake 4-H Camp in Ferndale. Camp is for ages 13-18.
  •  Kalispell Parks and Recreation along with “The Bear” radio station are hosting a Valentine’s Dance from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13 at Linderman Education Center, 124 Third Ave. E., Kalispell. There will be dancing, refreshments and prizes. Cost is $5 per person or $15 per family at the door. For more information call 758-7717.
  •  There is no school Feb. 15 for most schools in observance of Presidents Day. Cayuse Prairie and Evergreen schools will use it as a snow makeup day if necessary.
  •  The Bigfork Booster Club is ordering replica Viking football jerseys. Feb. 15 is the deadline to order a jersey with your favorite football player’s number and last name. Cost is $6o for students and $65 for adults.
  •  February 15 is the deadline to apply to exhibit in the Kalispell Mini Maker Faire, a free all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students and commercial exhibitors. Apply online at kalispellminimakerfaire.com. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Flathead Valley Community College Arts and Technology Building.
