LEGION BASEBALL: Reid, Criswell lift Lums at wood bat tourney
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 8 years, 7 months AGO
COEUR d’ALENE — Kaleb Reid had a pair of hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen defeated the Apple Valley Packers of Wenatchee, Wash., 4-1 in their first game of the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene Wood Bat Classic on Friday at Thorco Field.
Thomas Robinson scattered five hits in the win for the Lums.
Later Friday night, Tanner Criswell had two hits and drove in four runs as the Lums beat the Columbia Gorge Hustlers 9-1 in six innings. Daniel Gunnerson pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts for Coeur d’Alene.
"The second game, I thought, was a great team effort," Clanton said. "Played a little more small ball than I typically play but I feel like it put the game in motion and created some havoc on the bases. Great day for us."
Today at Thorco, Coeur d’Alene (7-12) faces the Edmonton Cardinals at 3:30 and the Spokane Expos at 8:30 to wrap up pool play.
