SOAP LAKE — Shots were reportedly fired in a car chase involving two cars near Soap Lake on Friday.

Witnesses reported hearing several shots in the area of Road 20 Northeast and Road B. 5 Northeast, near Soap Lake, about 11:30 a.m. Witnesses told deputies they saw a blue SUV possibly chasing a blue Honda car west on Road 20. Deputies responded to Road 20 and Road B. 5 and reportedly found several bullet casings at the scene. Deputies later found an unoccupied blue Honda in a ditch alongside Road 20 near Adrian Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

As deputies were investigating the incident, a homeowner on Adrian Road contacted MACC Dispatch stating someone was pounding on their front door and claiming they had been shot. Deputies responded and located Rodolfo Ramirez, 31, of Moses Lake, along some train tracks west of Adrian Road. Ramirez was treated for a leg injury, but the injury reportedly did not stem from a gunshot. He was arrested at the scene for outstanding warrants.

Sheriff’s office detectives are investigating the incident.
