BONNERS FERRY--Wednesday, June 29, Bernice Ende, a member of the Long Rider’s Guild, an international association of equestrian explorers from 45 countries, stopped in Bonners Ferry for the night. Ende is dedicated to her animals and to the life on the road with them.

Ende’s journey began April 1, 2014 from the northwest corner of Montana to Maine. When she started her journey, the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote was being celebrated in Montana.

Throughout her 8,000 mile journey, she visited homes and gravesites of famous and influential women, such as Susan B. Anthony.

Ende wintered on the east coast in 2015, then she headed west, Canada was also coast to coast. In 2016, her journey was completed by riding the west Canada and returning home through Washington and Idaho.

Her team consists of Essie Pearl: a 12 year old Fjord mare, and Montana Spirit: a five year old Fjord/Percheron mare. According to Ende, “to each and every one whose path I cross a hearty thank you for the interest, the encouragement, the support I could not have done it without you”.
