Thanks to a squirrel, electricity was out for 3,700 Flathead Electric Cooperative members on Friday morning.

The outage occurred after a squirrel got into a transformer, causing breakers to blow at the Green Acres substation about 7:50 a.m. Friday, according to Flathead Electric spokeswoman Wendy Ostrom Price.

Power was restored by 10 a.m.

The outage covered a large portion of central and eastern Kalispell and extended south toward Somers.
