LITTLE LEAGUE: Hayden 10-11s, Cd'A 9-10s open championship series with wins

AGE 10-11

Hayden 6, Coeur d’Alene 4: Romynn Schaefer’s RBI single in the top of the sixth inning put Hayden ahead to stay in Game 1 of the best-of-3 series for the district title. Elliot Smart came in to close and held off Coeur d’Alene in the bottom of the inning.

Bryce Hall, Colin Cherny and Brayson Ross all hit doubles for Hayden. For Coeur d’Alene, Zach Johnson homered and Cam Davey had two hits.

Game 2 is today at 12:30 p.m. at Croffoot Park.

AGE 9-10

Coeur d’Alene 6, Hayden 4: Zackary Bell homered and Austin DeBoer doubled for Coeur d’Alene in Game 1 of the best-of-3 series for the district title. For Hayden, Nate Weatherhead, Cooper Reese, Richie Hackett all hit doubles.

Game 2 is today at 9 a.m. at Croffoot Park.

MAJORS (age 11-12)

Lewiston 4, Sandpoint 2: Cruz Hepburn hit two home runs and drove in four runs for Lewiston, and teammate Chris Ricard struck out seven in Game 1 of the best-of-3 series for the district title.

Zeke Roop and Ethan Butler had the lone hits for Sandpoint.

Game 2 is today at 12:30 p.m. at Croffoot Park.
