LEGION BASEBALL: Lewis-Clark takes two from Lumbermen

COEUR d’ALENE — The Lewis-Clark Twins swept the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen 5-2 and 12-2 in Class AA North Idaho League play on Tuesday at Thorco Field.
In the opener, Dominic Conigliaro struck out seven and allowed two earned runs for the Lumbermen, who committed five errors in the loss.
Jarred Hall and Brett Stapleton had RBI singles for Coeur d’Alene. Hall singled to score Nathan Phillips in the first inning and Stapleton hit a sacrifice fly to score Hall in the fourth. Phillips finished the game with three hits in the leadoff spot.
Lewis-Clark (28-5, 7-1) can clinch the league title with a sweep of Prairie on Friday at Harris Field in Lewiston.
Coeur d’Alene (8-19, 2-4 NIL) will face Northern Lakes (11-17, 4-6) in a doubleheader today at 3 p.m. at Lakeland High in Rathdrum.
