Wear blue Thursday to support police officers

Montana Concerns of Police Survivors (MT COPS) has asked community residents to show their appreciation to local law enforcement officers by wearing blue on Thursday.

Recent events across the country provide an opportunity to show law enforcement officers that citizens are thankful for their protection, for their service, and for the fact that they put their lives on the line daily to keep the public safe, an organization spokesperson said.

MT COPS said it realizes these have been difficult times for law enforcement officers and their families. The recent sniper attack on Dallas, Texas, police officers has traumatized survivors of line-of-duty deaths. The protest in Dallas was against law enforcement, the sniper targeted officers, and those officers put themselves between the protestors and the bullets last Thursday, the organization noted.
