Full moon spotted in Whitefish

A Lupfer Avenue resident called the Whitefish Police Department when a naked man began banging on the door of the home and shouting. The nude male allegedly entered the garage while the caller was on the phone with dispatchers. Officers found the bare suspect in the alley behind the property and arrested him.
Officers made contact with someone sleeping in a vehicle on J.P. Road. The vehicle’s occupant told police they had just pulled over to take a nap. Officers advised the driver that the road was private property, and to move along.
A large mountain lion was reportedly seen on East Lakeshore Drive, eating the carcass of a deer on the side of the road. Officers were unable to locate the big cat or its food.
A 13th Street West resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department when he woke up and discovered his truck covered in mud. He suspected someone had taken the truck overnight, gotten it dirty, then returned it. Officers found no damage to the vehicle and no reports from the night before of any suspicious activity involving the truck.
A caller told police there was a man camping in a parking lot of a business on 16th Avenue West. Officers found the camper in question and told him to move along.
The Columbia Falls Fire Department responded to reports of a gas odor outside on First Avenue West North.
The West Valley Fire Department responded to a power line emergency on Church Drive.
The Creston Fire Department responded to reports of smoke outside on Krause Basin Road and to reports of a burn pile on Montana 35.
The Kalispell Fire Department responded to an indoor flooding situation on North Meridian Road.
The Marion Fire Department responded to reports of smoke outside on Hubbart Dam Road.
