Shadow women clinch inaugural NWPL title

TUKWILA, Wash. — The Spokane Shadow beat the Seattle Stars 4-0 to clinch the inaugural Northwest Premier League championship on Saturday at the Starfire Sports Complex.

After a first half goal from Tiara Pittman-Thomas on an assist from Marissa Mykines in the 10th minute, Spokane scored two more in the second half and took advantage of an own goal in the 76th minute to get the win.

Spokane (9-1-1, 27 points) will face Fuerza FC in Marysville, Wash., tonight at 5.

KENT, Wash. — Fernando Alvarez scored on an assist from Alex McNeil in the 13th minute, lifting the Shadow past the Stars in an Evergreen Premier League match at French Stadium.

Spokane (6-3-1, 19 points) plays Bellingham today at 3 p.m.
