Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Diane Woodson passed away on July 19, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice House.
She was born May 13, 1940, to Alfred and Adeline Mendoza in Livermore, Calif. She was the second of six children. She graduated from Washington High School in Fremont, Calif., Class of 1958.
She met the love of her life, Gary, in 1960 and they were married on Dec. 11, 1960. They had daughter, Carrie, in 1962 and daughter, Denise, came along 17 months later in 1963.
Diane worked at Lockheed for many years.
In 1973, the family moved to Post Falls, Idaho, where they still reside at the time of her passing.
She had such a green thumb and her yard was always beautiful. She loved flowers and had the most amazing rhododendrons. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, enjoying time at Lake Pend Oreille, gardening, playing bingo and going to the casino.
She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 55 years, Gary; daughters Carrie Northcutt, and Denise and husband Tony Vest; seven grandchildren: Brian, Desirae and husband Joseph, Nick, Tiffany and husband Benito, Tyson and wife Tessa, Anthony and wife Kalie, and Vanessa; 13 great-grandchildren JJ, Malakai, Mariah, Emme, Bella, Draya, Andrew, Jaxin, Adriaunna, Christopher, Aria, Elleigh and Noah; and four siblings: Marlene, Robert, Joyce and Frank.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her little brother, Alfred, in June 2016.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. Following the graveside, there will be a reception at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls.
