LAW ROUNDUP: Blustery day creates problems

Strong winds caused problems across a wide swath of the Flathead Valley on Friday afternoon. A boat capsized on Flathead Lake near Woods Bay, an unoccupied boat was reported to have sunk in Whitefish Lake and trees were reported blown down on several roads.
It was a foul situation on First Avenue East when a woman reported to Kalispell Police Department that she couldn’t sit outside in her yard because a neighbor allegedly put a dog fence on her side of the house and “the poop smell is so bad” in addition to being “unsightly as well.” She also said she believed there was drug activity going on next door.
A man on First Avenue West told police he saw a man attempting to break into houses and was going to “run him off.” He told dispatchers the man allegedly was “searching in windows and trying to climb a fence, then hid under the steps.”
A half-full 100 gallon propane tank was reportedly stolen by an evicted resident on 10th Avenue West.
Someone on Seventh Avenue West and Sixth Avenue West called police to report an attack. The caller reported yelling at a white truck that reportedly had sped around a corner, almost hitting a child. The caller said the truck allegedly came back and a man grabbed the caller and the caller’s brother punched the man in the face.
Someone on Third Street West was puzzled after watching a neighbor pour gas underneath mailboxes including his own and had “no idea why he would be doing this.” It was discerned that he wasn’t doing anything criminal — just killing bugs — although gasoline in dry weather may not be such a good idea.
A woman advised police that her ex was a convicted child molester and was concerned that he was allegedly luring children to a location using the “Pokemon Go” app. She was advised that nothing could be done at this time and gave her some options.
A Woodland Avenue church was reportedly paintballed.
Someone on West Evergreen Drive in Kalispell called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office when four girls reportedly said they were preparing to fight on a live-stream video app. One girl in the video was said to have a knife as they headed to the fight in Evergreen. As police were called, there were 30 people logged on to the app and watching the live stream, according to the report. Police drove to the scene to make sure no fights took place and the girl’s parents were notified.
A woman told officers “a bum” scared her. She said the man approached her while she was fishing about two miles west of Les Mason State Park. She said while the man was not aggressive, he asked her if she caught any fish, then asked for money or cigarettes. In response to the conversation, the woman said she threw her water bottle at the man and left in her car.
A Kalispell resident on U.S. 2 West reported he had a “gaggle of cats” around his house after a cat gave birth and “would like them trapped if possible.”
Apparently children are never too old to play tricks on their parents. A woman was given advice on how to remove a doorknob when her son allegedly locked her out of her bedroom because he was angry after she asked him “to have his kids clean up after themselves” on U.S. 2 West in Kalispell.
A Marion man along U.S. 2 reported two of his “junk vehicles” were stolen.
Two golf carts were reported damaged and then dumped outside a golf course near Bigfork.
A Kalispell woman requested extra patrol around her house while she was on vacation because her neighbors with “hair down to their backs,” and who are allegedly often shirtless, seemed like “the type of people that will break into their residence.” To add to her distrust, she told dispatch the neighbors had several tents and older-model vehicles in their driveway.
A man was doing some unwanted and destructive landscaping for a neighbor on Hockaday Lane in Lakeside when the neighbor told deputies the man was trespassing on his property and “destroying things” by chopping up something with a shovel along the roadway.
A dog was reportedly stolen from someone’s house on Airport Road in Kalispell.
A dog might have been window shopping when it was spotted by a customer wandering around a store.
An employee of an art gallery asked the Whitefish Police Department to remove homeless people on the sidewalk outside the business. Dispatch informed the employee that the sidewalk was a public walkway and the people weren’t doing anything illegal.
A security guard told police he found a man peeing into windows at a resort.
Columbia Falls Police sent out extra patrol when a resident reported two teenagers were allegedly knocking on doors then running away.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alleged car break-in on Granite Creek Road where a gold Nissan was parked. The caller said it looked like the engine was gone and the windows were busted out.
