VANCOUVER, Wash. — Fernando Alvarez recorded a hat trick, scoring in the 75th minute to lift the Spokane Shadow past the Vancouver Victory 3-2 in an Evergreen Premier League men’s soccer match at the Harmony Soccer Complex.

Former Post Falls High standout Brady Ulen, the league’s current Defensive Player of the Week, assisted on Alvarez’s second score just before the half for Spokane (7-4-1, 22 points), which plays at Wenatchee tonight at 5.

Vancouver (9-1-2, 29 points) needed two points to clinch the league title.
