Shadow men win road finale

WENATCHEE, Wash. — Joel Duncan had a goal and two assist, and former Post Falls High and North Idaho College standout Brady Ulen had an assist as the Spokane Shadow wrapped up their road schedule with a 6-0 victory over Wenatchee FC on Sunday in Evergreen Premier League play.

Spokane (8-4-1) is 17-1-3 away from home in its first three years in the league.

Spokane’s victory against the Capitals moved Spokane even with Bellingham, which lost 3-2 to South Sound on Sunday, for second in the EPL at 25 points, but the Hammers swept the season series and hold the tiebreaker advantage. Bellingham’s loss clinched the league title for Vancouver Victory (10-1-2), who also went on to down the host Olympic Force 3-2 later in the evening.

The Shadow men and women wrap up their seasons Saturday at home vs. South Sound. The women, who have already clinched the inaugural Northwest Premier League title, play at 4 p.m., followed by the men at 7, both at Spokane Falls Community College.
