QUINCY — A Rock Island man was killed and three members of a Wenatchee family were injured in an accident about three miles west of Quincy late Friday night.

Ruben Venegas, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 11 p.m. Friday, according to a press release from the Washington State Patrol.

According to the state patrol, Venegas was driving east on SR 28, ran off the road to the right, then overcorrected and lost control. He crossed the eastbound lanes and the centerline and ran head-on into the passenger side of a car driven by Cynthia Goodell, 51, Wenatchee. Goodell and her two passengers, 15- and 17-year-old boys, were injured and transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, the press release said, but intoxicants were not a factor in the crash.
