Shadow women top South Sound in finale

SPOKANE — Savannah Coiner scored on an assist from Megan Lindsay in the 62nd minute as the Spokane Shadow beat South Sound 2-1 in a Northwest Premier League match at Spokane Falls Community College on Saturday.

Lindsay also assisted on a goal by Maia Angell in the 39th minute for Spokane (11-1-0), which wrapped up the inaugural league title before the match.

South Sound finished second at 6-1-5.

First half — 1, Spo, Maia Angell (Megan Lindsay), 39:00. 2, SS, Chelsie Still (unassisted), 43:00. Second half — 3, Spo, Savannah Coiner (Megan Lindsay), 62:00.

SPOKANE — Former Post Falls High standout Brady Ulen assisted on a go-ahead goal by Sam Joy in the 48th minute, lifting the Spokane Shadow past South Sound in a Evergreen Premier League match at Spokane Falls.

With the win, Spokane moves to 9-4-1 and into second with a three point advantage over Bellingham, which hosts the Seattle Stars today. The Hammers must win today to move past Spokane via the head-to-head tiebreaker after sweeping the Shadow this season.

Spokane had won the previous two league titles.
