Arlene Alexander Smith, 89

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Arlene Alexander Smith of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away May 26, 2016, at Pacifica in Pinehurst. She was born Oct. 12, 1926, in New England, N.D. Arlene was the daughter of Harlan and Ardis (Reager) Alexander.

Arlene grew up in Harrison, Idaho, and graduated from Harrison High School in 1945. She went on to attend business college in Spokane. On May 25, 1952, Arlene was united in marriage to Edward James Smith in St. Maries, Idaho. They moved to the Silver Valley that same year.

Arlene was a homemaker and a mom to many. She was active in Cub Scouts and Eagle Scouts.

Arlene loved and enjoyed her family.

Arlene is survived by her family: two sons, Randy Smith of Kingston, Idaho, and Roger (Debbie) Smith of Rathdrum, Idaho; two granddaughters, Larisa Goodwin of Athol, Idaho, and Heather Smith of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and two great-grandsons, Corbin and Wyatt Goodwin. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Cremation will take place and private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
