Getts takes fourth in state tennis

Columbia Falls senior Emily Getts capped off a great high school career with a fourth-place finish at the state A tennis tournament in Bozeman last week.

Getts opened the tourney Thursday with a win against Maggie Magee of Dillon, 6-2,6-0, but then lost to eventual champ Barclay Fagg of Billings Central, 6-0, 6-0.

Getts battled through the consolation bracket the next day, dropping Olivia Fehr of Corvallis, 6-3, 6-2; Mollie Lemm of Polson, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1; and then dropped Marlee Congdon of Polson, 7-6 (3), 6-1.

But Getts then lost to Emilee Coleman of Livingston, 6-3, 6-4 in the consolation final.

Getts only lost three matches all season long.
