Mildred T. Poland, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Athol, May 26, 2016. She was a longtime resident of Athol and Athol Postmistress from mid-1960s to mid-1980s. She lived a full, happy life and never knew a stranger. She made everyone welcome and her home was open to anyone in need of a place to stay.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki (Mike) Haskew of Bayview and Patti Hook of Colville, Wash.; daughter-in-law Jan Poland of Alabama; seven grandchildren, Tamie (Kirby) Cunningham of Bayview, Mike (Carol) Upchurch of Athol, Nathan Upchurch of Athol, Aaron (Ashley) Poland of North Carolina, Lydia (Eddy) Hancock of Alabama, Marci Hook, and Doug (Glad) Hook of Colville; 12 great-grandchildren, Amber Ritzheimer, Ryppan Upchurch, Rollynn Upchurch, Mason Upchurch, Sherman (Erica) Upchurch, Peyton Upchurch, Timothy and Ryan Hancock, Natalie, and Evan and Bradley Hook; three great-great-grandkids, Madilyn, AJ and Tatum; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charles “Bert” Poland; son Charles “Chuck” Poland; grandson Joseph Upchurch; sons-in-law, Sherman Upchurch and Jim Hook.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Bayview Community Center. There will be a service officiated by Pastor Mike Slothower, followed by a potluck. Everyone is welcome. PLEASE COME AND JOIN HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
