The lobby outside the community room at Flathead Valley Community College’s Arts and Tech building was filled with Vietnam veterans and their friends and family early Thursday morning, June 2, in Kalispell, prior to a pinning ceremony with Congressman Ryan Zinke honoring their service and sacrifice. Service members wishing to receive a pin filled out cards with their names and branches of service. Just over 200 pins were given out in Kalispell including about a dozen pins given to recipients who accepted on behalf of veterans who could not be there. (Brenda Ahearn/Daily Inter Lake)
