HILLARY: A thoughtful choice

Regarding “The lesser of two evils”: I have to disagree with some I hear referring to their choice of Trump as a lesser of two evils. The most glaring difference in our choices is the assertion that they admire Trump for his refusal to “back down from his opinions”…(sic) right or wrong. I see this as a real negative, even if it were true. In 82 years — 61 of them involved in voting and studying politicians — I have learned that one of the wisest moves one can make is in changing one’s mind when confronted with evidence that one is wrong. Why would we admire a person who is unwilling to do this?

Secondly, I’m not sure that Trump has wisely formed the opinions that he is postulating. I am a strong believer in forming opinions in a rational way. I’m not sure, (well, yes, I am), that Trump is doing this. He seems to be famous for making statements, promises, “off the cuff.” He also tends to contradict himself quite often.

As far as Hillary Clinton is concerned, she may carry some baggage, much of it I believe undeserved, but she would at least give the dignity to the office of president that it deserves. The first woman president would be a finer legacy to the nation than the “first narcissistic braggart” who makes promises off the cuff, knowing full well that God would be the only “person” who could fulfill such promises.

I watched Hillary in a 12-hour stressful interrogation over the Benghazi situation. She didn’t yell, cry, call anyone names, and looked far more intelligent and statesmanlike than any of her interrogators. I watched her in a debate with a competing candidate for president and she displayed the same dignity and reserve. She is far, far better to represent the greatest democracy in the world than Donald Trump. Please, people, THINK!
