COEUR d'ALENE — An overlay of the existing pavement on a short stretch of eastbound Interstate 90 through Coeur d'Alene is planned for Wednesday and Thursday, affecting the on- and off-ramps in that area.

The Idaho Transportation Department will conduct the work from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to ease the impact to motorists.

Crews will pave the right (driving) lane first on Wednesday so the on-ramp at the U.S. 95 exit and the off-ramp at Fourth Street will be impacted until work proceeds past those areas.

Minor delays are expected and drivers are encouraged to use the U.S. 95 off-ramp or the ramps at 15th Street as alternate routes during this portion of work.

On Thursday, crews will pave the left (passing) lane and traffic will need to yield when entering the ramps at U.S. 95 or Fourth Street.

ITD is using electronic message boards in the area to alert drivers to the upcoming work as well as a message board at the Huetter Port of Entry.

The traffic impact is also posted on ITD’s traveler services website, 511.idaho.gov.
