A principal baritone with New York City’s Metropolitan Opera, Jeff Mattsey, has joined the cast of Alpine Theatre Project’s summer company full of Broadway actors.

Alpine Theatre Project’s 12th season will run July 6 through Aug. 20 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. Rotating productions this season include “The Full Monty,” “Rock of Ages,” and “Man of La Mancha.” ATP will also present a season-ending Gala Concert Aug. 19-20.

“This may be the most powerhouse summer company we’ve ever had,” said Betsi Morrison, ATP’s producing artistic director. “To add a principal baritone like Jeff Mattsey from the Metropolitan Opera to a cast full of Broadway veterans is just the icing on the cake.”

Mattsey has starred opposite Luciano Pavarotti in “La Boheme” and has performed in six seasons with the Metropolitan Opera in New York. This summer, he will be performing the role of Don Quixote in ATP’s “Man of La Mancha” as well as roles in the other productions.

The 2016 season consists of a core company of professional actors who will perform in all three productions. Among the Broadway professionals are:

Joe Coots — performed in the Broadway touring productions of “The Full Monty” and “Kinky Boots” as well as numerous television and film appearances.

Amelia Cormack — performed in the Broadway touring production of “Kinky Boots” as well as “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” on London’s West End.

Matt Densky — performed in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at Madison Square Garden and at major regional theatres across the U.S.

Eric Michael Krop — performed in the Broadway production of “Godspell” and in numerous ATP productions.

Tracy McDowell — performed in “RENT” and “Motown the Musical” on Broadway.

Susan O’Dea — a longtime ATP favorite who starred in ATP’s production of “Ring of Fire” last year.

C.E. Smith — performed in four Broadway productions including the original production of “The Full Monty.”

Rebecca Spear — star of ATP’s hit production of “Chicago” last year.

Becky Stout — former Radio City Rockette

Luke Walrath — performed in the Tony Award-winning revival of “42nd Street” on Broadway.

Ryan Williams — performed in the Broadway touring production of Rock of Ages.

Virginia Woodruff — performed in five Broadway productions, including “The Color Purple” and “Smokey Joe’s Cafe.”

The core acting company will be joined by Tony Hernandez, Olivia Mattsey, Saige Perchy, and Griffin Ziegert. Rounding out the company will be local performer Mikey Winn.
