WENATCHEE — USA unattached swimmer Eric Kemper returned to competition this weekend after taking two and a half months off.

Kemper competed in Wenatchee at the Apple Capital meet, held outside, in a 50-meter pool. Even with the hot conditions, Kemper placed in the top 10 in eight of the 12 events he swam during the weekend, and clocked personal best times in 10 of his events.

Kemper placed second in the 200 fly with a best time of 2:29.73 and third 100 fly with a best time of 1:06.30. More, he placed fourth in three of his events: 400 IM with a best time of 5:27.13, 100 freestyle with a best time of 1:01.34.

Kemper’s final fourth place finish was in the mile for the very first time in the 50-meter pool with a respectable time of 19:54.12.

Kemper took fifth in the 200 Free with a best time of 2:14.63. He came in ninth place in the 400 freestyle with an incredible time drop of 56.89 seconds for a new best time of 4:52.05. He placed 10th in the 200 BK with a best time of 2:39.80. Eric also came in 12th in the 100 BK with a best time of 1:14.77, and 13th in the 200 IM for a best time of 2:37.03.

Kemper will be traveling to Yakima in a couple weeks for his next long course meet. He has challenged himself to try and beat some of his new best times; and will be training for the next 12 days to accomplish this.
