A woman has been released from jail after she was arrested last week for allegedly using technology to track down a man before threatening him with a gun.
Loretta Maldonado, 42, was charged with felony assault with a weapon in Flathead District Court.
According to court documents, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to Goodrich Road in Kalispell at 2:35 a.m. on June 4 after the report of a disturbance.
Witnesses told deputies that Maldonado allegedly had shown up to the property dragging a rifle in one hand and a pistol in the other. She allegedly pointed the pistol at a man and demanded to talk to him.
The man told deputies he was afraid for his life and knocked the gun from her hands. She then allegedly fled on foot and was found on an adjacent street.
Maldonado allegedly admitted hiding from deputies. She also allegedly confessed to tracking the man to the property by using the Global Positioning System in his cellphone. The weapons involved allegedly were fully loaded.
Maldonado will be arraigned on June 16. A petition for a protective order against Maldonado will be considered on June 15.
