About 10 food trucks offer their goodies at the Best Food Court (south of Best Avenue and east of Fourth Street) near Midway Restaurant Supply.

The space has some outside dining areas, and the trucks have different hours. All with different cuisines and beverages, the trucks include Coeur de Breizh Crepes, Left Coast Fusion, Taco Works, Best Sandwich Shack, Rawdeadfish (sushi), Roadside Grill (burgers, Indian tacos and more), Backhills BBQ and High Mountain Coffee.

Adore Hair & Beauty has new owners

Jenny Munday and her parents, Doug and Karen Munday, are new owners of the Adore Hair & Beauty Lounge in Suite 3 at W. 109 Kathleen (across from Home Depot).

Offering haircuts, coloring, pedicures, Brazilian blowouts (and soon) nail work by appointments, the salon is open Monday through Saturday. Jenny is looking for hair stylists and nail technicians. Phone 625-1180.

The Lodge Assisted Living Homes expands

A new 16-bedroom, 12,000-square-foot assisted-living home for the Lodge at Fairway Forest is under construction at 3989 N. Player Drive.

Scheduled for a fall completion, it is the fourth assisted-living, 24-hour care quarters owned by Cliff and Becky Mort. It will include a rock fireplace, an open kitchen with a granite coffee bar and dining room, a covered patio, bedroom suites with walk-in tub-showers, a library and a hair-nail spa.

Check www.lodgeliving.net. Phone Trevor Stewart at 457-3403.

Restaurants support local art and events

The new Anthony’s in Riverstone displays local art purchased by its owner Budd Gould. Included are an entryway welded steel statue by Allen Dodge, collaborative enamel pieces by Allen and Mary Dee Dodge and a 16-foot kayak by Mark Vore of Bayview. Other pieces will be arriving.

The ArtWalk Friday evening and Saturday presentation yesterday were sponsored by Viljo and Autumn Basso of the new Bluebird restaurant on Fourth Street.

Now for the Tidbits

- Hancock Fabrics in Prairie Shopping Center will join its sister stores in closing soon. So will Sports Authority in Silver Lake Mall.

- Watch for news on Dickey’s BBQ outside Silver Lake Mall, 777 Take-n-Bake Pizza on Best Avenue, G.I. Java Coffee House on Fourth Street, Roger’s Burgers, Popeyes, Green & Grounds Coffee Shop, Silverlake Auto and The Lean Bean in Post Falls, An Escape Game on Third Street, a new business next to Clark’s Jewelry downtown and Empire Eye, Sushi I, Grille From Ipanema and Custom Den (engraving) in Riverstone.

- Other new places coming include Landmark Storage behind Neider Retail Center, Alta Dance Academy and Hayden Medical Plaza & Clinics in Hayden and Cracker Barrel (June 20) and Orban Family Dental near Winco and a gas station-convenience store in the southwest corner of Highway 95 and Lancaster.

- Sweet Lou’s will replace Grill From Ipanema in the Parkside building on Front Avenue. Crafted Taphouse will add a Victory beverage place in the former Christmas at the Lake location next to Crafted on Sherman. And its beer garden should be in the back on Lakeside.

- Hoping to be an annual event with 200 cars, the Cinderella Nights custom car show is 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays in Riverstone through Sept. 6.

- The Coeur d’Alene lakefront needs a designated place for kayaks (and similar crafts) to launch. The rigs (private and commercial) and their vehicles really clog the Sanders Beach outlets.

- Avoid a comma splice like this, it’s incorrect writing. Fix it one of three ways: Use a semicolon (;) instead of the comma (,). Or make it two sentences with a period (.) instead of the comma. Or use a conjunction such as “because” instead of the comma.

- Notice the colon (:) above after “ways”) that introduces what’s next. If what follows is a sentence, the first word should be capped. If it’s a list, it’s not capped.

- I stayed up all night to see where the sun went. Then it dawned on me ...
