Area student earns honor roll status

Jenna Faude of Sagle, a member of the class of 2016 at Washington and Lee University, has earned honor roll status for the recently ended winter 2016 term.

Honor roll status at Washington and Lee represents a term grade-average of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Washington and Lee University is the nation’s ninth oldest institution of higher education.

Local students graduate UMW

On Saturday, May 7, 2016 the University of Montana Western awarded 481 degrees to 395 students at commencement setting a record for most degrees awarded. Two students from Bonner County were among the graduates.

Tala C. Fehsel of Hope graduated with a bachelor of arts in English.

Jordan Munar of Priest River graduated with a bachelor of science in environmental interpretation.

Hill graduates from Graceland University

Paul Hill of Sagle has graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science honors from Graceland University with a major in biology.

Graceland University held spring commencement on Sunday, May 1.

Graceland University is a liberal arts university located in Lamoni, Iowa, and is sponsored by Community of Christ. It has been recognized by the Princeton Review as a top school in the Midwest and fosters academic excellence with over 50 academic programs and a 15:1 student to faculty ratio.

Jones receives academic honors

Northeastern University is pleased to recognize those students who distinguish themselves academically during the course of the school year. Sandpoint resident Mackenzie Jones, a Northeastern University student majoring in political science/international affairs, was recently named to the university’s dean’s list for the spring semester, which ended in May 2016.

To achieve the dean’s list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality point average of 3.5 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C- during the course of their college career. Each student receives a letter of commendation and congratulation from their college dean.

Founded in 1898, Northeastern University offers more than 90 undergraduate majors and a comprehensive range of graduate programs, from professional master’s degrees to interdisciplinary doctoral programs.
