No Sun Road projection

Glacier Park road crews have been putting the finishing touches on the Going-to-the-Sun Road as the Hungry Horse News went to press Tuesday.
Having said that, the Park wasn’t making a projection on when the road would open, said park spokesman Tim Rains.
Rains said it was snowing at Logan Pass Tuesday morning as a cold front rolled through. He urged folks to keep contact with the Park later in the week, when it could have a better picture as to when the road will open to the pass.
Crews finished plowing the road last week, but still needed to put up the remaining guardrails, which are removed each year. They also had to put up a temporary guard wall at Rimrocks, where a May avalanche took out 60 feet of stone wall.
Last year the road opened to Logan Pass on June 18. The weather this weekend is supposed to be partly cloudy and cool, with highs in the 50s and 60s.
