Peter Philip Duczek, 57, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away June 2, 2016, surrounded by his family. Peter was born to Jerry Duczek and Jackie (Sorrell) McAvoy on Feb. 2, 1959, in Spokane, Wash.

In 1979, he married Anderea Morgan (Duczek). They had two children: Geena Duczek and Jerry Duczek (Mindy Hayes).

In 1996, he met and began his life with Sara Corniel and moved back to the area from Portland, Ore. They have spent the last 19 years together in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Pete leaves behind his mother, Jackie McAvoy; grandmother Sarah Mathews; sisters Kathie Chirhart (Tom), Tonia Duczek (Jim Frank), Nikki Lynch (Joel), Tyla Rae Eaves (Chris), Autumn Duczek, Tara Duczek and Victoria Dunham; grandchildren Bryce, Mya and Cierra; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Duczek and his grandmother, Erma Stoddard.

A celebration of life potluck will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016, in the picnic area at Q’emiln Park in Post Falls. Donations can be made in Pete’s name to Hospice of North Idaho Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
