Piano students shine at adjudication

Moses Lake – Central Basin Chapter, Washington State Music Teachers (WSMTA) held adjudications in March for local piano students with Yelena Balabanova of the International Conservatory Studio in Bellevue, Sammamish, Mukilteo and Seattle. Each student performed two memorized solos, received written and oral comments from Balabanova and a certificate of participation.

Teachers represented were Elaine Fox, Preta Laughlin, Marina Munter, Gracie Payne, Doreen Slaugh and Harriet West.

Fox’s students were Danielle Fackrell and Adam and Tyler Wiseman.

Laughlin’s students were Hannah Buchmann, Sophie Butterly, Stella Butterly, Cami Cox, Emmie Dilling, Harper Grizzel, Aiden Harris, Kaelyn Maasen, Danielle MacPherson, Jayce Moore, Halee Moore, Jessica Neustel, Ellinor Sonnichsen and Taylor Yamane.

Munter’s students were Olga Azarov, Elisabeth Barlow, Erica, Spencer, Grant and Daniel Bowen, Ella Heaps, Alyssa, Neela and Lily Kolosnitsyn, Daria Lawson, Erin Manly, Bret Mathyer, Zoryana Moskvich, Eric and Rebecca Shaporda, Joshika and Krithika Suresh, Inna Tsymbaliuk and Abigail Tun.

Payne’s students were Kimberely Avila, Jared and Sydney Beaubien, Audrey, Derek and Luke Bergeson, Lucy Christensen, Michael Duong, Gracee and Jaylen Frank, Megan Hill, Sierra Kiel, Vincent Lara, SiAyle and Soraya Lease, Amirah Olaniyan, Ashley and Katie Santos, Tierney Stakkeland, Edwin Ulloa and Manna Wu.

Slaugh’s students were Lily Diedicker, Brianna Hansen, Roman Jenks, Tessa Pyle and Meghan Waites.

West’s students were Michael Christian, Derek O’Brien, Ryker Ohs and Hannah Welch.
