Royal grads total $466,538 in scholarships

ROYAL CITY — The 51 graduating Royal High School seniors who scored scholarships in 2016 combined for a total value of $466,538, Royal High Counselor Jennifer McCoy reported.
Senior Scholarship Night was held on Thursday, May 26, at the high school.
Leading the class of 2016 was Miriam Bautista-Rodriguez with $117,134 in scholarships. They include a Chancellor’s Scholarship for $70,000 and a Benedictine Scholarship for $40,000.
Wrestler Darrin Miller was awarded a $70,000 academic/wrestling scholarship by Concordia University. He will start wrestling for the Nebraska college next fall.
